Private equity firm Flexstone Partners, which is an affiliate of Natixis Investment Managers, has appointed Caroline Gibert as its first head of ESG.
Gibert will serve the new role in parallel to her current function as head of investor relations and business development at the firm.
As head of ESG, Gibert will be responsible for deploying an ESG strategy at both a firm and portfolio level.
Gibert will be supported by an internal ESG working group that will aim to ensure consistent ESG integration across Flextone Partners, by means of concrete objectives, such as becoming a neutral carbon company by 2050 and increasing gender parity in its investment teams by 2030.
Commenting on her new role, Gibert said: ‘We will also work actively and take part in initiatives in the investment industry to drive changes and find new ways of investing capital.’
Flextone’s managing partner Eric Deram said: ‘Our mission is to deliver attractive risk adjusted long term performance to our clients. The objective of ESG integration is to enrich our mission by making sure all portfolio managers and underlying companies are well-placed to develop a sustainable business model.’
Flextone, which specialises in small and mid-cap global private equity markets has been a PRI signatory since 2014. The firm started implementing ESG criteria in its mandates in 2006. In 2020, Flexstone committed to the France Invest-sponsored ‘Gender Equality Charter’ and published its first global ESG policy.
