Independent fund management company ML Capital has launched a global long/short Ucits fund in partnership with Ronit Capital, the company has announced.
The Ronit Global Opportunities Ucits fund will focus on liquid emerging markets, as well as the European periphery, and will be hosted on MontLake’s Ucits platform.
The strategy seeks to invest across a liquid capital structure and is expected to develop an equity bias. The fund will be managed by Ronit Capital's CIO, Edward Misrahi.
Ronit Capital is an emerging markets hedge fund group, set up in 2013 by Edward Misrahi and Luis Arenzana, who have expertise in managing event driven, long/short strategies.
Last month ML Capital also announced the launch of an absolute return Ucits fund in conjunction with Quest Global Advisors.
Commenting on the latest launch, Cyril Delamere, CEO of ML Capital, said: 'We have every confidence that the team's proven emerging markets track record and their ability to invest in both long and short equity, will better enable them to strengthen returns regardless of emerging market conditions.'
Ronit Capital’s CIO, Edward Misrahi said the firm had partnered with MontLake at an exciting time, due to the popularity and demand for Alternative Ucits funds continuing to rise.
The fund is registered for sale in the UK, Ireland and Spain.
