Granahan Investments has appointed industry veteran Jeffrey Harrison to its top-performing small- and mid-cap equity department, the US boutique has announced.
Harrison, who has 18 years of industry experience, joins the Massachusetts-based company from Wells Capital Management.
In his new capacity, Harrison will work as a portfolio manager and analyst overseeing the generalist aspects of the firm’s small- and mid-cap equity growth strategies.
In addition to assisting this team, Harrison will also work on the Small Cap Focused Growth fund, which is managed by Drew Beja, and the newly launched Small Cap Advantage fund, which is available to US investors.
Commenting on the appointment, Jane White, president and CEO of Granahan Investments, said: ‘Jeff brings to Granahan proven portfolio management capabilities along with an extensive fundamental research background.
‘Jeff’s expertise complements the skills of our other portfolio manager/analysts, and he’ll be an immediate contributor to both our sleeve-managed and sole-managed small cap strategies.’
Hatton was in the Citywire Global Star Manager feature at the end of 2014 for his long-standing performance on the Vanguard US Discoveries fund.
This fund has returned 87.9% over the three years to the end of June 2015. This compares to a rise of 73.3% by its Citywire-assigned benchmark, the Russell 2000 Growth TR, over the same period.
Granahan Investment Management was founded in 1985 and currently has $3.6 billion in assets under management.
