UniCredit has hired Marco Bizzozero as its new head of group wealth management, the firm has announced.
Bizzozero will start in his new role on 1 March 2018 and report to UniCredit general manager, Gianni Franco Papa.
He brings with him 25 years of experience in wealth management, private equity and investment banking.
He was most recently head of wealth management EMEA at Deutsche Bank and CEO of Deutsche Bank Switzerland.
In his new capacity at Unicredit Bizzozero will oversee the division covering wealth management and private banking business in Europe, with a focus on Italy, Germany and Austria.
This also includes a group product and investment platform which defines the investment strategy of individual clients and provides a range of investment solutions and services for clients.
Commenting on the new hire, Franco Papa said: 'Bizzozero's widespread international experience, proven track record and leadership skills will be instrumental to further developing and strengthening our positioning in wealth management and private banking.'
Bizzozero first started at Deutsche Bank in 2004 as head of global private equity investments. He also worked in private equity and investment banking at UBS, as well as serving as a board member at the Swiss Bankers' Association.
