UBS Asset Management has hired Citywire + rated Hayden Briscoe as head of fixed income, Asia Pacific, the Swiss investment firm has announced today.
Briscoe joins from US asset management firm Alliance Bernstein, where he was a director of Asia Pacific fixed income. In his new role, Briscoe will work from Hong Kong and oversee all fixed income portfolio management and business activities in the region.
John Dugenske, global head of fixed income at UBS Asset Management, said the introduction of Briscoe to the team supports the conviction to the asset class in the region.
Commenting on the new hire Rene Buehlmann, head of asset management, Asia Pacific, said: 'His experience in China complements our aim to be a global leader for China related investments, in both RMB Fixed Income and Equity offerings.'
This hire is one among several management moves in the company over the last month. Last week UBS Asset Management revealed its global equities head, Nick Irish, had left the firm. Charles Burbeck, who was previously head of global equity portfolios, took on his role.
Earlier this month, the firm also hired Michael Baldinger from RobecoSAM to strengthen its sustainable investing expertise.
