Schroders has hired UBS Global Asset Management fixed income head Alix Stewart.
Stewart's colleague Konstantin Leidman, a high yield specialist, is also making the switch to Schroders’ $65 billion fixed income franchise.
Meanwhile Sarang Kulkarni, who currently runs segregated credit strategies at Schroders, sees an expansion in his role, which includes the co-management of the Schroder ISF Global Corporate Bond fund.
All three managers will report to Schroders’ CIO of fixed income Philippe Lespinard.
The appointments - and change of role for Kulkarni - come in the wake of a series of hires to the firm's emerging market debt team, which saw four new faces added at the start of May.
Commenting on the most recent appointments, Karl Dasher, head of fixed income at Schroders, said: ‘Schroders’ fixed income business has experienced rapid growth over the last four years, with AUM growing in excess of 25% per annum.'
'We are committed to reinvesting in the skills necessary to ensure future success for our clients. Alix and Kosta bring strong experience and results in their specific domains of expertise and will significantly strengthen our credit team.'
He added: ‘Sarang has been entrusted over the past three years with some of our most important segregated accounts and we feel that he has earned the opportunity for expanded responsibility on one of our flagship funds.’
