RWC has bolstered Citywire A-rated Davide Basile's convertible bonds team with a new hire, the company has announced.

Justin Craib-Cox will join Basile on the convertible bonds investment team at the firm, which currently manages funds such as the RWC Global Convertibles fund.

Craib-Cox joins the firm from Aviva Investors, where he spent six years on the converts team. Prior to this, he had worked on the convertible bonds team at M&G.

In his new role, Craib-Cox will report to Basile (pictured below), who is head of the convertibles team.

Basile is currently responsible for over $1.2 billion in assets under management across a range of institutional accounts and Ucits funds specialising in global convertibles and Asia-specific convertible funds.

Commenting on the hire, Basile said: ‘We are seeing significantly increased interest in the convertibles asset class as the rate and volatility environment provide a compelling backdrop for using convertible funds in diversified portfolios.

‘We see renewed opportunities within the asset class and Craib-Cox’s experience in analysis, portfolio management, and client interactions, will provide a significant enhancement to the team’s ability to grow and take advantage of the market environment.’
