Pictet Asset Management has hired former Eisenstat Capital Partners partner and senior analyst Paul Southgate, the company has confirmed.
Southgate joins the Swiss group's $8.3 billion total return equities team, after spending almost nine years at long/short specialist Eisenstat.
The company, which focused on European long/short funds in the large-cap space, announced its closure in June 2017 following over 11 years of operating.
Prior to his time at Eisenstat, Southgate was managing director of European equities at Fortress Asset Management and had also spent time as a portfolio manager, focusing on European equities at Deephaven Capital Management.
This is the second hire to Pictet’s total return unit this year. In July the firm hired ex-UBS hedge fund manager, Doc Horn, as its head of total return equities.
