Asset management firm Invesco has formally named Nicholas Wall as a co-portfolio manager on its €758 million European Bond fund, Citywire Global has learned.
The new recruit has been with Invesco since 2006 and worked within the European bond team with day-to-day management responsibilities for the past four years.
The London-based fund manager, who reports to Nash, will continue his function of day-to-day responsibilities as well as undertaking more direct involvement in the fund. He assumed the role in March.
Speaking to Citywire Global, Nash said: ‘Nick has worked on the team for four years and this is an extension of the work he has been doing in terms of construction for the European strategy. He will work closely with myself and Lyndon, who will continue to focus on credit.’
Nash and Man have co-run the fund since September 2013 when the pair succeeded Michael Siviter. Previous managers on the Luxembourg-domiciled fund include Citywire + rated Mark Dowding, who now works for BlueBay Asset Management.
The Invesco European Bond fund has returned 32.1% in euros terms over the three years to the end of April 2015. This is while its Citywire-assigned benchmark, the Barclays Pan European Aggregate TR, rose 24.8% over the same period.
