Invesco Perpetual has appointed a fund manager to run the Invesco Latin American Equity fund alongside Dean Newman, the company has announced.
Nicholas Mason will jointly manage the fund with the head of emerging markets at the firm from 30 June. Mason joined the asset manager in 2006 as a senior analyst within the emerging markets equities team and took on fund management responsibilities in 2008.
In October 2013, Citywire + rated Mason started to manage the Invesco Emerging Europe Equity fund, taking over from Liesbeth Rubinstein who had managed the fund since July 2008.
Commenting on the new appointment, Newman said: ‘Nick and I have worked closely together for over 10 years, managing Invesco Perpetual’s investments in Latin America and the wider world of Emerging Markets. Nick is a talented and experienced stock picker with a strong valuation discipline, who takes a fundamental and long-term investment view.
'His addition as co-manager of the fund recognises his contribution as we continue to seek out superior investments in this area of growing interest for our clients.'
