HSBC Global Asset Management (HSBC GAM) has hired a head of passive fixed income, the company has announced.
In the newly created role, Sebastien Faucher will play a key role in addressing client demand.
Based in London, Faucher will report to the global CIO of fixed income, Xavier Baraton and locally to UK CIO, Philip Glaze. Faucher joins the firm from Legal & General Investment Management where he was head of fixed income.
As part of its ongoing commitment to meet client needs, HSBC GAM also plans to unveil a number of passive fixed income products as part of a new Ucits fund range.
Commenting on the hire, Baraton said: ‘This significant hire forms part of a strategic initiative to further strengthen HSBC GAM’s proposition within passive investments.
‘HSBC GAM has successfully been investing into passive strategies on behalf of clients for nearly three decades, and we are as committed to passive now as we were back in 1988.'
