Hermes Investment Management has bolstered AA-rated Gary Greenberg’s (pictured) team with the appointment of a senior Asia analyst to aid regional coverage.
The move sees experienced equity portfolio manager and analyst Amit Mehta added to Greenberg’s London-based team in a director and senior analyst role.
In his new capacity, Mehta, who has previously worked for Pimco and Pictet among others, will focus on Asian stock ideas for Greenberg’s emerging markets strategies.
Mehta will also assist Greenberg, who is head of emerging markets at the Hermes IM, with research, analysis and generating models for existing and potential new areas of investment.
The team is made is Greenberg, along with two co-portfolio managers and three analysts, which includes Mehta.
Greenberg said the appointment adds resources to a key investment area for him and his team. ‘His insights and skills will be an excellent complement to the existing expertise on the team as we continue to build on our strong performance and capitalise on the attractive companies we see in the market.’
The Hermes Global Emerging Markets fund returned 48.3% in US dollar terms over the three years to the end of December 2017. This compares to a 31.3% rise by the MSCI EM (Emerging Markets) TR USD over the same timeframe.
