Fund manager Tassos Stassopoulos has left AB, formerly known as AllianceBerstein, after nine years to join London-based emerging market specialist Ashmore, Citywire Selector's sister site Citywire Americas has learned.
Stassopoulos ran a number of the US group's emerging consumer, global growth and thematic strategies from its London office and has now been appointed head of growth equity at Ashmore.
An AB spokesperson confirmed to Citywire Americas they had handed over management of his funds to his colleagues in January to begin the transitioning process prior to his departure last month.
The AB Emerging Consumer Portfolio has been handed over to Liliana Dearth, who has over 20 years' emerging market investing experience. His former co-manager Daniel Roarty is now lead manager on the AB Global Growth Trends Portfolio and AB US Thematic Research Portfolio funds.
