William Blair Investment Management has appointed a new global chief to oversee its $74 billion asset management operation, the Chicago-based company has announced.
Stephanie Braming will lead the firm’s investment management business and will also join the firm’s executive committee.
As global head of investment management, Braming will be responsible for the strategic direction of the business.
Braming replaces Michelle Seitz, who moved to Russel Investments last month to take on the role of CEO, following a sixteen-year stint at William Blair.
She had responsibility for around $20 billion of client assets. Braming will be transferring her portfolio manager responsibilities on the International Growth and International Small Cap Growth strategies.
This will see Ken McAtamney join Simon Fennell and Jeff Urbina as portfolio managers on the International Growth strategy, while Simon Fennell will join Andy Flynn on the International Small Cap Growth strategy.
Braming joined William Blair in 2004 as an international and global equity specialist and has been involved in the portfolio construction and design, as well as taking on leadership roles in the enhancement of the firm’s systematic research tools.
