UK boutique J8 Capital Management is to launch a Ucits-compliant version of its absolute return fund through a partnership with German giant Universal Investment.
The UI-J8 Global Absolute Return, which will formally launch on 28 February, is based on the London-based company’s existing J8 Global Absolute Return Strategy, which launched in January 2015.
The systematic fund is an absolute return strategy focused on trading momentum, carry and value factors with a focus on the CTA markets.
There are three key pillars to the fund, which cover technology leading momentum, carry and value models, as well as global futures markets and a target-volatility portfolio, which is risk-weighted.
Commenting on the launch, Tillmann Sachs, CIO and founder of J8, said the new launch serves as an important diversifying strategy for investors seeking new sources of return and long-term investment.
The fund was set up in Luxembourg on Universal Investment’s Luxembourg platform, which houses Ucits funds. The company as a whole oversees €350 billion in assets under administration.
J8 Capital Management was founded in 2012 and was designed to focus on capital perseveration, risk-adjusted returns and diversification.
