GAM has upped its fixed income efforts with the hire of a new investment manager for its absolute return team, the company has announced.
The firm has appointed Owen Job as an investment manager to work on its absolute return fixed income team with a focus on macro themes.
Job has over 12 years’ experience in investment management, predominately within the macro strategy space. He joined the firm on November 6 from Soros Fund Management, and will be based in London.
Commenting on the appointment, GAM’s investment director and business unit head of fixed income, Citywire A-rated Tim Haywood said: 'Job joins with considerable macro strategy experience spanning more than a decade – he will further strengthen our proposition regarding theme generation and positioning across asset classes.’
The new hire brings GAM’s absolute return fixed income team to 19, based in London and New York. The team currently manages around $11 billion of assets.
