Future of fund selection: Anima’s Taschini on surviving alpha scarcity

Fund selectors have to go deeper than ever in ensuring asset allocation and portfolio construction are aligned given the scarcity of available alpha in current markets, Anima’s Stefania Taschini has said.

Taschini, who is a fund of funds portfolio manager at the Italian company, said 2016 saw widespread rotations and challenges in ensuring portfolios were fit for purpose.

Speaking to after an exclusive panel session on the evolution of fund selection at Citywire Italy 2016, Taschini looks at the importance of effectively marrying together the various elements of a fund selectors’ toolkit to stay ahead of the competition.
