Thematic equity specialist CPR Asset Management is capitalising on its existing range of funds with the launch of a fund of funds megatrends strategy, the boutique has announced.
The Amundi affiliate has unveiled the CPR Invest – Megatrends fund to tap into the potential created by megatrends identified by its research team.
The new strategy is run by portfolio managers Florian Peudevin and Guillaume Uettwiller, and mainly invests in thematic equity funds from the CPR AM range.
Commenting on the new fund, Vafa Ahmadi, head of thematic equity managements at CPR AM said: 'Investors are increasingly looking for meaning in their investments and their interest for thematic management is growing.
'Some are asking about the best way to benefit from megatrends and are looking for an appropriate thematic equity allocation.'
CPR AM’s thematic approach identifies societal, demographic, economic, environmental and technological megatrends that are shaping our future.
Other strategies managed by the boutique cover a range of themes, including ageing population, disruptive companies, food value chain and restructuring lifestyles.
The new fund’s allocation is determined monthly during the thematic allocation committee, which all managers attend.
According to their convictions, the managers arbitrate the weighting of each risk-adjusted fund and take the opportunity to correct any geographic or sector biases through tactical investments on specific themes, regions or sectors.
CPR Asset Management is an autonomous affiliate, fully owned by Amundi Group, and manages more than €43 billion in assets across a range of funds, of which €5 billion is managed through its thematic equity strategies.
