French asset management boutique Tocqueville Finance has expanded its portfolio management team with the hire of Stéphane Nières-Tavernier.
Nières-Tavernier joins from Paris-based group Montpensier Finance, where spent 10 years co-managing a range of the firm’s largest funds.
In his new capacity at Tocqueville Finance, Nières-Tavernier takes on the role of manager of funds and mandates. He formally started on February 1.
In his new role, Nières-Tavernier will be responsible for running the Tocqueville Megatrends fund and the Croissance franchise. He will run the Megatrends fund alongside deputy CIO Michel Saugné and portfolio manager Alexandre Voisin.
Nières-Tavernier started his career in 1998 at BNP Private Equity (Banexi) and in 2006 took up the role of equity research analyst at Exane BNP Paribas for two years.
Established in 1991, Tocqueville Finance has more than €2.2 billion in assets under management as of the end of December 2017 across its range of funds. It is largely owned by La Banque Postale, which has a 93% stake.
