Financials and insurance sector specialist Zenon Voyiatzis has stepped down from UBS Asset Management after nearly seven years with the Swiss group, Citywire Global has learned.
It is understood Voyiatzis, who was a named manager on the UBS (Lux) Equity Fund – Financial Services strategy, has joined T Rowe Price.
Voyiatzis was previously highlighted by Citywire Global as one of the top performing financial sector specialists over the course of 2013.
He had run the €38 million, Luxembourg-domiciled fund since June 2010, having succeeded Stephen Jarvis as lead manager on the specialist fund.
Voyiatzis joined UBS AM from Merrill Lynch, where he had been an equity researcher overseeing European insurance, in April 2008. Upon joining UBS he was named as a portfolio manager.
In his new capacity, Voyiatzis is set to serve as an investment analyst overseeing insurance at T Rowe Price.
The UBS (Lux) Equity Fund – Financial Services fund returned 66.5% over the three years to the end of December 2014. This is while its benchmark, the FTSE World/Financials TR, rose 69.2% over the same period, both in US dollar terms.
