UBS Asset Management has bolstered its bond efforts with the appointment of a new head of fixed income, Citywire Selector can reveal.
Charlotte Baenninger has been leading the fixed income team on an ad interim basis since the start of this year and has agreed to formalise her role as head of the team.
A UBS spokesperson confirmed the appointment and said Baenninger will continue to be based in Zurich.
Baenninger has been leading the effort to evolve the firm’s fixed-income framework, including investment processes, forums, systems and infrastructure.
With 30 years of experience in the asset management industry, Baenninger was instrumental in building the firm’s Swiss bond platform.
Back in 2001 she was appointed head of fixed income Switzerland and had managed that space for 16 years before taking on the global role at the beginning of this year.
