Julius Baer has consolidated its fund selection team in Zurich and undertaken several changes in roles and responsibilities, Citywire Selector can exclusively reveal.
The team, under Patrick Roefs, head of fund offering at the Swiss group, has been centralising its efforts to its headquarters since early 2017.
Asia-based manager Pearlyn Wong Pei Li remains with Julius Baer in another capacity, while Wei Shi Lim has exited the firm.
Meanwhile, two other members of the fund selection unit, Albulen Kastrati and Fabian Kalbermatter, have been reassigned to other roles within Julius Baer.
Kastrati will now work as a product specialist within the advisory unit, while Kalbermatter is a portfolio manager overseeing a recently-launched multi-manager fixed income strategy.
While both still interact with the fund selection team they no longer work directly within Roefs’ unit.
Other changes have seen the appointment of Dominik Kofler from Liechtenstein-based private bank Kaiser Partners. Kofler joined in January 2018 to oversee research in convertibles, commodities and fixed income.
Elsewhere, fixed income fund selector Francesco Mandala re-joined the selection unit in December 2017, having left for one year at UBS, while Andreas Luekert has moved from focusing on hedge funds to also oversee fixed income, as well as multi-asset funds.
