Jean-Francois Hautemulle has left JPM Asset Management, with the former head of fund selection at UniCredit forming his own investment consultancy boutique, Citywire Selector understands.
Hautemulle left UniCredit for JPM AM in 2013, ending four years overseeing selection at the Italian group to become head of product strategy for the EMEA region at his new employer.
It is understood he stepped down from JPM AM this month and formed Terres Neuves Consulting, which was incorporated on March 21, according to filing documents.
There were no other details regarding the focus of the new venture at this stage.
JPM AM confirmed the departure to Citywire Selector.
European head of funds, Massimo Greco, said: 'Jean-Francois was crucial in building the EMEA Product Strategy team. Over his tenure he grew the team from 3 to 8 employees and significantly expanded the team’s coverage across the firm’s European product range.
'His strong talent recruitment leaves in place a robust team. We wish him the best in future endeavours.'
Hautemulle was approached for further comment regarding the new venture but had not responded at the time of publication.
