Galvis has overseen the Luxembourg-domiciled alternative approach since 2010, when the fund was first launched.
It is understood that the addition of Chéron is intended to boost the systematic elements of the strategy, as his area of expertise is quantitative investments.
Chéron had sat within Carmignac’s Cross-Asset team under Frédéric Leroux but is now in the bonds team under Rose Ouahba.
Chéron has 13 years of investment experience. He works closely with the French group’s fund managers to assist portfolio construction, trade optimisation and alpha generation.
Chéron was previously a named manager on the Carmignac Pfl Investissement Latitude fund alongside Leroux. This global equity fund was launched in 2014.
The Carmignac Pfl Capital Plus fund returned 1.2% in euro terms over the past three years to the end of October 2017. This compares with the average fund in the Absolute Return EUR sector, which returned 1.7% over the same period.
