Ethenea Independent Investors have bolstered its portfolio management team with three new hires, the asset management firm has announced.
Blümke was most recently head of alternative investments at Tecta Invest, a subsidiary of the insurer Bayern.
There he oversaw allocations within a multi-asset fund, as well as looking after private equity and other alternative investments.
Blümke will also be involved in the management of the Ethna SICAV AKTIV, which was launched in February 2017.
Meanwhile, the team overseeing the two funds will also be supported by fellow new recruit Volker Schmidt, who will focus on bond selection for the strategy.
Schmidt formally joined the firm in November 2017 and previously worked for YCAP Asset Management (Europe) and LBBW Luxembourg. He has 20 years of experience in the industry.
Elsewhere at the asset manager, Harald Berres has joined Christian Schmitt on the Ethna-Dynamisch fund. Berres was hired in December 2017 having worked as portfolio manager at GS&P Kapitalanlagegesellschaft.
Commenting on the appointments, Thomas Herbert, head of portfolio management at the firm, said the trio will contribute their long-standing experience to the management of the equity and bond allocation at the firm.
The Ethna AKTIV fund has returned 1.54% to the end of January 2018. Its technical indicator, LCI Mixed Asset EUR Bal - Global, returned 10.77% over the same time frame.
