BMO Global Asset Management has launched a market neutral Ucits fund focused on US real estate, the company has announced.
The BMO US Real Estate Equity Long/ Short (US REELS) fund will be managed by the company’s property equities team, who will decide portfolio construction and the implementation process.
Citywire A-rated Alban Lhonneur and portfolio manager Daniel Winterbottom will be responsible for strategic decision on risk allocation, with oversight from Marcus Phayre-Mudge, who is head of property equities.
The new fund aims to deliver positive returns in all market conditions over a three year period and will use a pair-trading strategy within property sub-sectors.
It builds on other long/short funds managed by the team, including the Europe-focused F&C Real Estate Equity Long/Short fund, which was launched in 2012 and soft-closed in April 2016.
The new fund is domiciled in Ireland and is available for sale in the UK, Belgium, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy Luxembourg, Netherlands, Spain and Sweden.
