Bond veteran Bill Gross' $250 million lawsuit against his former employer Pimco was in part a PR move aimed at restoring his tarnished reputation, according to a public relations veteran.
Experienced crisis manager Michael Sitrick, who was hired by Gross's lawyer in 2015, has made the claim in his newly released book ‘The Fixer’.
In the book, Sitrick recounts how Gross attempted to overcome negative coverage amid the departure of his former colleague Mohammed El-Erian.
The book delves into the relationship between the two and steps Gross took to counter growing publicity concerns.
