Amundi Asset Management has appointed a new head of debt fund management within its dedicated platform for real and alternative assets, the company has announced.
Thierry de Vergnes joins the firm from Lyxor Asset Management where he created the debt fund management business. He managed the Lyxor European Senior Debt Fund before it closed in June 2014.
Amundi confirmed the appointment but did not reveal whether de Vergnes would be running any funds upon joining.
De Vergnes was responsible for debt fund activities at Lyxor Asset Management and invested in both European syndicated loan and private debt markets.
He formed Egret Management LLP, now Lyxor AM UK, which, since its formation, has raised more than €1 billion from institutional investors.
Prior to his five years with Lyxor AM, de Vergnes spent nine years working at Société Générale, where he was managing director or business development.
He also worked as group head of Indosuez Capital in the acquisition finance department of the bank in the US.
The appointment comes shortly after Amundi announced it has partnered with the State Bank of India to increase its investment management capabilities.
