Allianz Global Investors has bolstered its credit investment management team with the hire of Amundi high yield portfolio manager, Sébastien Ploton.
The strategy has been overseen by Marioni since December 2014, when Alexandre Caminade stepped back from the fund’s management.
This marks Ploton’s second stint at the firm, having worked at Allianz GI in 2007 as a quantitative analyst before becoming a high yield credit portfolio manager in 2010.
He left the group in 2015 to join Amundi as a portfolio manager, covering European high yield market.
It is understood that a little more than two years at Amundi, Ploton left the group in December 2017 and joined Allianz GI in Paris.
Allianz GI has been growing its credit investment management and research team over the past few years and how now built a team of nine portfolio managers, headed by Marioni.
The team includes three high yield specialists, four on the investment grade segment and two convertible bond experts.
Overall, the team manages close to €7 billion in assets as of the end of December 2017 and is supported by a research team led by David Manoux.
