Citywire AAA-rated manager Thierry Larose has resurfaced at Vontobel Asset Management shortly after exiting Degroof Petercam.
Larose joined the firm from the Brussels-based asset manager after stepping down in November last year, which was exclusively revealed by Citywire Selector.
Larose has been consistently AAA-rated since February 2016 and was highlighted as the top EMD manager in the most recent edition of Citywire Euro Stars.
In response to his exit, Degroof Petercam AM hired Michaël Vander Elst from AXA Bank Europe ahead of Larose’s departure. He will work on the firm’s EMD offering together with Carl Vermassen.
At his new workplace Larose will contribute his experise in local currency emerging markets debt.
This sees Larose take over responsibility for the Vontobel Emerging Markets Local Currency Bond fund. It had been run on an interim basis by Daniel Karnaus it had been overseen by Valentina Chen prior to the summer of 2017.
