A-rated Sherlock: Trump's pro-growth plans could power small-caps

Donald Trump inherited a strong position as US President but his pro-growth plans will be music to the ears of small-cap investors, Hermes’ Mark Sherlock has said.

Citywire A-rated Sherlock, who runs the Hermes US SMID Equity and Hermes US All Cap Equity funds, said Trump has acted like a ‘lightning rod’ in changing investor perceptions when it comes to the US economy.

However, this is a stark contrast from the view of Vontobel’s Luc D’Hooge who recently told Citywire Selector that Trump was not helpful for the US economy.

Elsewhere, Sherlock reveals the sectors he expects to best prosper under the new President, while also being wary of the disruptive influence of technology on smaller market players.
