Matthew Barnes currently manages the Rubrics Global Credit UCITS Fund. Matthew has extensive expertise covering a broad range of industries across the credit spectrum. He is also a key contributor of corporate credit ideas throughout Rubrics fixed income fund range. Matthew joined the team in 2011 and took over management of the Rubrics Global Credit UCITS Fund in January 2012. Matthew’s experience at both an industry and credit specific level has helped both in building an extensive universe of credit ideas and actively managing the credit exposure within the fund. Prior to joining Rubrics Asset Management, Matthew worked as a specialist credit asset manager at New Bond Street Asset Management for five years. He played an integral role in the credit selection and active management of a €4 billion fixed income portfolio. Matthew has also worked at Deutsche Bank and BNP Paribas in senior credit analyst positions. He began his career analysing corporate credit in 1997. Matthew received his Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws degrees from the University of New South Wales, Australia.

Objective

The investment objective of the Sub-Fund is to invest in a diversified, global portfolio of high-quality credit securities over the long-term. The Sub-Fund will seek to achieve its investment objective by primarily investing directly in a combination of fixed rate and floating rate bonds issued by corporates and interest-bearing securities (including loan stock, debenture bonds and notes and liquid assets). The Sub-Fund will invest globally with its exposure to emerging markets not exceeding 35% of its Net Asset Value.
